Peaceful Evening
The sun appeared late today but nice and warm while it lasted.
The pontoon in the foreground is what we call the "locals" pontoon.
It is where you can put your boat to wait for whichever marina your berth is, to open as the tide rises.
In summer it is packed both sides with little powerboats so you have to take pot luck for a space.
The sailing boat moored alongside the pontoon looks ready for a world trip. Not sure if she is local or not but, well looked after and ready for anything I would think!
As you can see, the "visitor" pontoons of which you can just make out 5 are largely empty still as, only the bravest souls relish chilly winter sailing.
Yesterday I helped to launch a brand new Aquastar 42 powerboat which was built in Guernsey, by Aquastar over the winter, and belongs to a gentleman in Scotland. She is undergoing sea trials now and all being well will set off for the Clyde next week. Really hope this lull in the weather holds for them!
Should be okay though because she is fitted with stabilisers and when I asked about them, Aquastar said she is the smallest boat to which they have ever fitted stabilisers so...jury is out on how well it works out...apparently the customer was determined to have them fitted...mustn't spill good scotch!
