Until last night Pru had not even known that in another life I sold hats. What I in turn didn't know - only when I called around at the end of January to ask if she would be amenable in principle to the gift of a hat, did I find a hallway covered with a display of a hat collection that had been in storage.

Of course, in Australia we wear hats as a standard part of dress or are advised to wear a hat to protect our skin against sun cancer . Here's the joy that only a few weeks after I bought my own current special hat at the same address in Adelaide, I was able to see by casual eye this treasure would likely fit Pru.

So anyway my friend was happy to receive the gift of her Mark O'Carrigan Made in Australia hat even more when she saw my 70s vintage Geo. W. Bollman Made in the US of A felt hat
