Loch Ness

So, we sort of pretended that hanging around the fire truck and not doing much on Saturday might be an option but, really, we're not much good at that. Consequently, we decided to head into Inverness for a mooch around.

It took us a little while to find a place to have breakfast but eventually we settled in somewhere rather nice and then, once fortified, took a stroll around the town. To be honest, though, it was a bit 'generic British town' so we decided to venture down to Loch Ness, which seemed a far more exciting proposition.

The drive was beautiful and we stopped off in one lay-by to take some photos before heading on to Drumnadrochit for beer, tea and a scone. After that, though, we were ready to head home, where the Minx cooked up some mussels and we read our books and drank wine by candlelight. It was perfect.
