CPG Culture - Electric
The Cross Party Group on Culture tonight was on the topic of “Intrinsic right or expendable luxury: the challenges and opportunities in securing cultural funding”. Fascinating discussion - passionate, articulate & illuminating. Brilliant performances by Dumfries & Galloway's Electric Theatre with a snippet from Blood Orange, Morna Young from Moray reading from Lost At Sea (which I've blipped before and yes, I cried again) and Councillor Eoghann MacColl on his experience as an artist and a Councillor and talking about with a video on Kilmarnock as a Creative Place - featuring this song from Fatherson - now one of my favourite songs, first heard on a previous Kilmarnock Creative Place video!
Quite a few MSPs present tonight along with many representatives from across the cultural sector & beyond - popular topic!
Blipped the Blood Orange performance, with the Committee Room lending itself surprisingly well to a theatre performance.
