Black and White

This pear-tree in my backyard is always covered by lichens.
I like lichens, their rugosity, the feeling when you touch them, the shape...
When I was a child, my father used to tell me that lichens only grow in pollution-free areas, so you can know if an area is or was polluted by taking a look at walls and trees and checking the amount and growth of lichens.
