Gotcha!

The heavens opened as I started my walk this morning - all forecast so I was prepared - waterproofs and brolly. It doesn't help with photography though, so I headed for one of the bird hides hoping for some action.

And here's the result - one Great Spotted Woodpecker!

Once the rain had stopped I continued on my walk around the lake and spotted treecreepers and Great Crested Grebes doing their courtship head shaking.

I saw only one Little Egret today, so hopes slightly dashed for a pair that might breed, but I'll keep an eye out for another.
