English Girl in Berlin

Schoneberg

This morning I headed to Kurfurstendamm and enjoyed a lovely brunch at Brel. After lazing over my coffee with a good book I went to meet E. Unfortunately the gallery we had planned on visiting was closed so we paid a quick visit to Kaiser-Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche (a church with a bombed-out tower) before hitting the shops, punctuated with a coffee at Café Wintergarten im Literaturhaus.

We enjoyed a late lunch of crepes at KaDeWe a huge department store with an amazing food hall and then returned to the shops. We finished off the afternoon with a quick beer at Café M before heading home.

This evening we went to a roller disco at SO36 in Kreuzberg (just round the corner from our apartment) and had the best time. We had a few precarious moments to start with, but soon got back into the swing of things and jammed along with the locals (many of whom had some pretty fine moves – major respect to the man with the ponytail and the white tracksuit). Fries at Kreuzburger before bed.
