40 Years In The Making
Happy Birthday to me !, Well it was a long old day as they say I was heading off to London today but left it late as I had something special planned for my 48th birthday today if you look close you can see me holding a card in my hand it was a Birthday card from 40 years ago today when I was a member of the Junior Hearts Supporters Club my card was autographed that day by Legendary Hearts forward Drew Busby so after some calls and texts 40 years later to the day that same Legendary player Drew Busby re-signed my birthday card at the pub he runs in Dumbarton called the Waverly bar Drew was an absolute gem to take time out to pop down to his bar and sign my card along with getting his photo with me, as an 8 year old boy he was my footballing idol and for those that can remember the now defunct football team Third Lanark he was the last ever player for Third Lanark to score a goal in the teams last ever game before they went defunct in a 4-1 defeat to none other than Dumbarton as 3 years later he joined Hearts,he now has his pub ironically in Dumbarton so it was a sheer joy to chat with him before heading back to Edinburgh before heading to London for an overnight stay in my hotel at Gatwick Airport before flying out to Calgary to spend time with my father-in-law who has terminal cancer, so it was an amazing visit with Drew and if Dumbarton stay up in the league next season as we will be going down it will give me an excuse to visit his pub for a beer or two and watch my team play Dumbarton next season so great day for many reasons thanks Drew your still a legend at Hearts and always will be movie for the day is "legend 1985" Looks good LARGE as well See Ya
