Here's a puzzle for a monkey!
The birds are singing, the trees are flowering and this one is putting on a spurt of growth.
I always think that Monkey puzzle trees (Araucaria), look rather incongruous in London. But the forests of them in Northern Patagonia are superb, what little remains of them. The trunks take a long time to rot and dead ones look rather fossilised shortly after they fall. They grow far taller and less bushy when packed together, but form quite open forests teeming with life. Well worth a visit if you happen to be in Chile.
