Family History

Still not up to going far because of my knee, so decided to take a photo on a similar theme as yesterday. These are reference letters from some of the places my grandmother worked for as a cook in the late 1920's and early 1930's in the Montreal area. The photos are of her and some of her friends during this time and the notebook contains more recipes. This photo reminds me of the intro to a German film called 'Heimat' . The word heimat has no direct English translation as it describes a persons relationship to their social network. It is often translated as home or homeland.
