Cooper's Hawk on St. Patrick's Day

A bright and sunny day here but a bit on the cold side today. Was looking out the front window when all the squirrels froze in the yard and sure enough the Cooper's Hawk landed in the tree to the north of us. I had just said yesterday I had not seen him in a while. Little red squirrel hid under my garden wagon and the larger squirrels just froze still. The hawk sat for less than a minute and then flew away not seeing any small birds or squirrels to go after. A Happy St. Patrick's Day goes out to you all, from me and my feathered and furry friends!
