Kickin' it

We went into Victoria to watch our granddaughter Kalyn play soccer. She plays in a high performance league and luckily for us one of the other teams is based in Victoria, so it's easy to get over to watch a game. Her team won 4-0. It was a short visit because the kids were right off the bus onto the field then right back on the bus after the game to get to the ferry, but we spent time on the sidelines with our daughter and that was good. We're going over for a visit to watch Krista ride later this week.
On our ferry ride home, I thought about how many hours we've spent in gyms and on fields - playing, coaching and watching games. Countless hours - great memories and win or lose, always fun. Sports have played a big part in our lives. Our daughter is an excellent athlete and played basketball at uni. It's great to see our granddaughters loving their chosen sports and having active lifestyles.
I reckon it's important to stay active as we get older. G gave me a basketball for my birthday a couple of years ago. I still love shooting hoops. Swish.
