Day 1 the LOOP

It's up early today as the real reason we are in Tha Khek is we are going to do the "loop". The loop is 3 day motorbike journey that a lot of backpackers have started doing and so we thought we would join in. So we rented some scooters after checking they were roadworthy and headed into the unknown.

The first stop was Buddha cave which as the name would suggest is a cave. It was quite weird having to duck down and crawl to enter the cave. Once we were inside we were met with a Buddhist family who looked like they lived in the cave. They were just sitting down to lunch so we said hello and then headed on our way. The next cave was much larger and I went exploring with my head torch on. I stumbled into another man and nearly sh*t myself as I couldn't see him.

The roads around the loop really are in really bad condition which resulted in Alex having a little fall. We made it to a really nice guesthouse which had bungalows for rooms and was right next to a river. We had our own little bungalow and hammock. It was just absolutely amazing and totally not what we expected.

That night we sat down with a few other backpackers and played cards,pétanque and generally had a chat. It was really good meeting so many other people and the reason I believe it happened was know one had any wifi!! Off to bed as we have a long day in the morning.
