Cooking pears or stoofpeertjes

Today we went to my parents to sort of celebrate Sinterklaas, only without presents so in fact it was more like having dinner with them and my brother. As always they had made a fabulous dinner, of which these cooking pears (stoofpeertjes in Dutch) were a delicious element.

Well, no presents... That was the agreement. But if you know my mom you know as a fact that there will be presents anyway, no matter what agreement you made. So there were, several. And because we had anticipated on that, we had brought some too. So we ended up with quite a pile of presents...

It was fun.
