purist

this morning i chatted to a bit of a cycling purist in a church i was visiting. he was an older guy and he bemoaned the following: gadgets, gps, lycra and expensive bikes. and cycling magazines telling you how much you need all of the above. he was comedy. he said that the best cyclist he had ever known wore old leather brogues and marks and spencers trousers.

i asked him for some good local routes and right now my legs are regretting it.

it was still gloriously sunny after church and so i headed out. probably the hardest hill climbing i've done, but so worth it for the views.
