Cultural Understanding
We spent the morning by the pool and had lunch in the Arabic tea house.
Took a long walk through the souqs (the gold souq stretched for miles) and stopped for Moroccan tea and more hummus (how much hummus is too much hummus?).
Colin made friends with this camel at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.
I then dragged Colin to a shop I wanted to go to which was in a pretty sketchy neighbourhood, probably worth it to see the 'not so shiny' side to Dubai.
We jumped on the metro (pretty impressive. Strange to see different classes - standard, women & children, gold class) as the plan was to be at the Burj Al Arab for sunset... but the metro stop was still miles from the hotel so with rush hour traffic, we had to change plans and head straight back to the hotel to pick up our bags.
Even though the metro didn't take us quite where we wanted to be, really impressed by the standard of it... without it, as it is in Doha, it's taxis everywhere you go.
