Homage to Charles Rennie Mackintosh in St James's

This lamp is outside BP's Head Office in London's St James's Square. I spent a few minutes wondering why it looked familiar. Then it dawned on me that it's in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I wonder it was a deliberate act of homage?
