Head to head cook off in the town centre
What is becoming our usual Saturday walk into town for a few supplies and a coffee threw up a cooking event in the town square. The new square is one of the few things the Council has got right and provides a great space for all sorts of activities, including this one which focuses on using up all the left-overs.
Here, the Leader of Maidstone Borough Council is pitting his culinary skills against the town crier - I'll leave you to work out which is which.
A good walk home was followed by an afternoon of rugby interspersed with cooking and gardening. Watched England beat Italy, made the dinner and transplanted a few seedings, then watched the thrilling France v Ireland game that the Irish just shaded to win the 6 Nations Championship. Any team that can beat the French in Paris deserve to win the Championship in my view.
