The ADB

I spent 3 days in the hallowed halls of the ADB headquarters in Manila this week. It is a sprawling rabbit warren of passion and bureaucracy - similar to some old and great universities. One gets the feeling that a lifetime could be spent here with only scratching the surface of what is happening. The Bill Gates foundation was presenting in the great library next door to where President Aquino was attending a meeting which was next door to discussions on the situation in Crimea. That was just the west wing on the ground floor where this photo was taken. Stack on top of that 7 floors with each floor and wing organised thematically around a development goal and every country in need represented and you start to imagine the great amount of work and thinking that gets done within its walls.
