1st Station of the Cross, St Joseph's, New Malden

I've had it in mind for a time now to do a series of Blips of the rather splendid carved stone reliefs depicting the stations of the cross at St Joseph's in New Malden. I guess this is the season to begin it.

They are striking, plain but beautiful, and call for B+W treatment, I think. This first one is in a bit of a dark corner, but some of the others get good sunlight which shows the depth of shadowing to good effect.
