St Albans parkrun

parkrun is a fantastic voluntary organisation that runs timed 5k events in parks all over the country every weekend. I take part most weekends and today was my turn to volunteer. Today's job was to scan each finisher's barcode into the system. Through the magic of technology each position and time is loaded onto the website and communicated to participants by text and email. It's all great fun and a wonderful way of keeping fit. This photo captures the eagerness of the 250 runners at the start at 9:00 am on a fresh March Saturday morning.
