#14 Equitant
DDW March Challenge #14 Equitant
Irises have equitant leaves, whose bases overlap at the base, resulting in a flat, fan shaped arrangement. We have several purple irises in our back yard, and in fact, growing outside the fence down the alley. It will be a while before the flowers bloom, but some of the leaves are already a foot tall. Here is Turnie, our miracle turtle, enjoying a meander through the irises on this unseasonably sunny and warm day.
