I'm back!
This photo is my first ever cheat, date-wise on blip, but I'm posting it today to remind myself that I did have the most fantastic time in St Lucia.
Within hours of my return, the holiday bubble burst when my mum was kicked by her horse and sustained a fracture of her pelvis, with an open wound over it. It may sound callous to say it was her own blipping fault, but it was!
From the moment I dialed 999 until I left her at the hospital late this evening, after her surgery, the care she has received has been exemplary. The paramedic that arrived on the scene, the ambulance crew, the trauma team and in particular the wonderful staff nurse in A & E made the process as easy as possible. They even provided me with sandwiches and coffee to stave of the jet-lag!
This evening I left her in surprisingly good form, declining pain killers, but a little miffed that her clothes had to be cut off her.
The day has passed me by without any shots being taken, so I'm using this, taken on the last evening in St Lucia. We were enjoying afternoon tea - with champagne watching the sun set on a truly wonderful holiday.
I will back blip the rest of my holiday shots over the next couple of days, in between visiting mum and looking after her menagerie. (4 horses, several chickens and a dog.)
