Twelve Years a Slave

Finally saw an Oscar nominated film tonight - and started with the Best Picture winner. Powerful performances by all (well, maybe apart from Brad Pitt). Terrifying subject matter and extremely graphically depicted. Steve McQueen's films can seem a little clinical though and maybe that was how I felt about this one too. However, still well worth a watch!
