Blackfeet
Packing the studio to get on the road to my show. Literally everything goes...and this is one piece out of the 35 that will be packed and loaded. This is a Blackfeet warrior circa 1820. He wears a grizzly bear claw necklace attached to otter fur. His braids are wrapped in dyed deerskin. That is the nacre of an abalone shell around his neck...common trade item with the Nez Perce who roamed from the western coast of Washington-Oregon through western Montana. The Blackfeet were once one of the most feared tribes in America. They are now ranchers and farmers on the Blackfeet Reservation next to Glacier Park. In fact, they own Glacier Park...we just have a treaty to manage it. Now the white man works for the Indian!
