The HAVE and HAVE NOTS

I always look for an opportunity to share a REAL slice from a country, and this shot spoke to me! The lovely home in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia where the more affluent live, and then the working fisherman below it on their dock.

Over the past week we have driven on streets where the regular folks from St Lucia live, and I can tell you that the houses are made out of anything and everything...always colorful, but surrounded by groups of folks not working, loitering at a nearby store, or bench. No doubt they are unemployed and are hoping their luck changes soon. The amount of taxes these people pay is high...most don't own cars, but they work hard and are delightful. it is not an easy life...
