I see a red door ...

.... and I want it painted black!

Course I don't. But how do you get in? With a ladder? Jump? I discovered the main door was to the side -a bright yellow door with a lion's head knocker. This is the barn of the house we stayed in the first time we ever came to Ireland. Fatal!

Another glorious day and I have worked hard. Lots more digging and clearing including an indeterminate area by the compost bins - it could be useful for something I'm sure. Potaotoes and onions ready to go in - salads and tomatoes sown, garlic planted. The walk down to the sea was much needed. I went down to a mini headland that I hadn't been to since the storms and was amazed at how much it had all changed. Great chunks of top soil ripped off the rocks, stones everywhere and small bushes flattened. Nonetheless, this is a pretty gorgeous place to sit and ponder for a while. I almost felt like paddling.

My camera has headed off to the nice Canon people in Colchester. Hope they can do something. Himself's camera is excellent but a little bit too small - I keep on fearing it will slip from my hands.

Other exciting news, my brother has brought me a very early and fantastic birthday present - tickets to go and see Wolf Hall, and Bringing Up the Bodies at the Aldwych in September. Yes, both in the same day but no problem, in fact essential. We are veterans at longhaul, arduous theatre going and have tackled Oedipus (3 fraught plays); Nicholas Nickleby and something incredibly long at the Lowry - I forget the name of the play but it was loosely based on the Illiad. We went into the theatre at 10am and emerged at 11pm - short breaks having been taken. Brilliant!
