It's dry....

......and it's depressing. With very little rain, and high temperatures, the grass is just dying. We have dried off some cows, and the remaining cows have been lucky to have turnips to eat each day, but those crops will be finished on Sunday. After that we will be feeding out silage, which traditionally has been kept for feeding the cows during Spring. We are praying that we receive rain during the next few days, or else we will be drying off more cows.

This photo shows the cows walking to the cowshed tonight to be milked. At least it has cooled down a bit tonight. This afternoon the temperature got to 28 degrees - just far too hot.
