Lining up
A busy evening with first the Kilbrandon Lecture held in the Barony Hall of Strathclyde University. An interesting and humorous speech by Prof Frank Cotterel Boyce - children's writer, film maker, and writer of the London Olympic opening ceremony. Strong message of reading stories aloud for pleasure. Has lasting benefits and can provide a sense of control in the future. Don't analyse everything. Just read for the fun of it and the experience.
Then on to the 2014 annual youth worker awards for Scotland. So many inspiring stories of people volunteering and working to help others. Hard to choose and everyone nominated had a positive story to tell or be told about them. Great vibe - and music.
Here are all the winners lining up for the final photo. Then the last train home to Edinburgh.
