Fog

"The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit." 1 Corinthians 2:14

So today was very interesting driving on the motorway to and from work. It was very foggy and I could not even see the other side of the road, let alone any buildings at the side of the road. It was very eerie indeed, and it was as if the world did not exist beyond a certain point. It was really difficult to see what was ahead.

The Bible verse is also about people who find it difficult to see, but this is about see the ways of the Lord, or the things of the Spirit. You need to be filled with the Spirit in order to discern that something is of the Holy Spirit, otherwise it can look like foolishness. Not everything that God does makes sense to us, but when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you can be at peace that God knows what he is doing, even when he asks you to do things that might seem a bit weird.
