OU Memory #13 - Magnolia beside the 'White House'
Today's 13th, the right number to coincide with my OU Memory #13.
Yesterday OU announced its appointment of the new Chancellor. Those who are interested can view the YouTube link for Mr Martin Bean's announcement.
Never seen in person what the Chancellors have done or are doing (see, I'm not an insider, either) but the white building beside the magnolia flower is the place where the Vice-Chancellor (VC, currently Mr Bean) works. The Chancellor doesn't work there. The Chancellor is some sort of public relation person (at the highest level) and represented the University in all sorts of VIP events, whilst the Vice-Chancellor does the same, but additionally does the real work :-) A bit like the Queen versus the Prime Minister … (thanks, MN!)
I have called it the 'White House' since my first day and it has become sort of spread among the PhDs (permenantly head damaged)! Officially, it is called 'Walton Hall'.
We just celebrated the International Women's Day - now time to have a female with actions :-)
