Wrawby Post Mill

Only four wanderers out today, others presenting feeble excuses like bruised Achilles tendons, painting courses and being in Australia.

Post mills do not have a rotating cap that automatically turns to align the sails catch the best of the wind. Instead the miller, or more likely his lackey, had to heave a great boom around.

Wrawby mill was one of the earlier restoration projects being undertaken in the late 1960's. It appears that it only produces flour on special occasions like bank holidays etc.
