Rusty nine

Old house number all rusty around the edges by decades of rain, cold, sun and heat. I guess you can call it wear and tear. I like to take pictures of old elements in buildings: they are silent witnesses of things past and present and perhaps future as well. They usually are the things you don't take time to look at, don't stop and look up. And yet there they are, and have been for a while. And They are also the result of some craftsmanship that most people don't even think about: someone designed and crafted these number plaques, the shutter-holders, latches, door handles, etc...
