Rehearsing at MBT

For just a few weeks, Allegra Women's Ensemble will be holding its weekly rehearsals in the Encore Room at the Mt. Baker Theater. As I got out of my car today, the iconic tower set against a deep blue afternoon sky grabbed my attention, which in turn caused me to grab my camera.

The theater was built back in 1927 and I've learned that its main stage is the largest venue in Washington north of Seattle's Paramount Theater and the Fifth Avenue Theater (whose architect also designed the Mt. Baker Theater). If I have any say in it, I'd love the Mt. Baker's Encore Room to become our default performance venue!
