The glorious twelfth

As it was such a glorious day, I was additionally sorry to be heading to work another extra shift rather than on an adventure. Dad and his girls had a wonderful time in North Berwick. E made a new friend, built sandcastles, collected shells and shared an ice cream with her sister. Meanwhile, A struggled to walk on the uneven sand, rediscovered the stability of crawling, wore wellies for the first time, and they both beamed smiles like the sunshine itself.

At the end of the day, I was treated to a shell display as soon as I reached the top of the stairs and later had the task of washing away the sand at bathtime then, as neither girl relies on milk to aid sleep these days we took one each for cuddling and stroking 'til golden slumbers kissed their eyes. our meatballs supper had to be reheated.
