Life Inside A Hellebore Calyx ...

I published a flowering hellebore before. It's interesting to see there are kinda 'mini worlds' inside the faded calyces. You see here an ant looking for the sweet substance that aphids secrete in/on this plant.

One thing is remarkable. On the whole plant I could detect only one ant. But that will be the time of year I guess...;)
