The gatehouse, Newcastle University

Appropriately for what was built as King's College of Durham University, a nice statue of, I think, King Edward VII, and a cost of arms on the gatehouse. They have demolished the building which was attached to it on the south side so it looks a but odd now; you can walk round the side so it's lost some of it's function. When I attended the University the exam results were always pinned up in the arches underneath so was a place saturated with emotions of anticipation, trepidation, elation and disappointment.
