Her absolute favourite in the food department (not that Smiley is the most discerning of wolfers, you understand) is sausages. We very rarely have sausages, but Smiley lives in hope…

In the absence of sausages, Smiley Girl is perfectly happy to accept any other morsels on offer or to just help herself to the contents of Bob’s bowl (while he looks on bemused – or singing!). If she can, she’ll help herself to anything else she can possibly reach too…

Bob’s a very fussy and spare eater and one useful side-effect of Smiley’s foraging visits is that her fixation with speedily hoovering up whatever comes her way (and she can forge her own way if necessary...) tends to momentarily rub off on Bob and often it’s the easiest time to get at least some nourishment into him too.
Maybe Smiley Girl knows this and all that fervent gluttony is just her way of helping out a (slightly besotted) old friend?
