Miscanthus & Conventional power on the horizon

Around us miscanthus is grown and hopefully we will also be able to buy logs made from this renewable plant. I have not yet had the opportunity of trying them but if they are of comparable heat output to wood then I would certainly buy. As more people are affected by high fuel costs we are seeing a return to the late 1970s/1980s when wood burners were installed in their thousands and the price of wood rocketed - the same is happening again now so a substitute fuel is needed as it is very difficult to get well seasoned firewood - and as we know burning unseasoned timber quickly rots out even stainless flues as well as producing no heat..!
