"Few restaurants have gotten more national publicity in the last year than State Bird Provisions, a tiny restaurant in an unlikely area near Japantown in San Francisco.

It was packed before they won the James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in May, and it’s become a reservation that’s as challenging to get as one for the French Laundry. Fortunately, chef/owners Stuart Brioza and his wife, Nicole Krasinski, reserve half the seats for walk-ins. However people begin to line up well before the 5:30 p.m. opening time."
