B.A.C.K. to Basics

May I help you?

A watchdog, he is not. Mace and I were hanging out, playing, when one of the kids (or BJ - I can't remember) came into the house. We've made it a point to not get excited when we walk inside and see the dog. I feel that it just sets the wrong idea in the dogs head, that it's ok to be crazy when someone enters your house.

I think we'll succeed in this lesson - our boy simply looks over at the door, acknowledges the visitor, wags his tail a little faster than normal, and simply goes back to his nap, his play toy, or his food. It's quite comical to see how his personality is developing. He's now familiar with the house, and has his favorite spots with in it - sunny patches on the floor in the afternoon, his bed in the morning and his crate at night.
