Seasonal Affective Disorder

Some people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as a result of the long, dark winter nights. One treatment uses special “natural” lights which mimic sunlight to try and compensate.

My watch also suffers from SAD – indicated by the second hand stopping at the “charge” indicator. It’s solar powered, and every year around this time the long winter catches up with it and it needs to spend some time in a bright place. Then, once it's over its SAD, the second hand will start ticking again.
