PILGRIMS

Think of the danger as they sailed across the ocean.
They built their own housing in freezing winter conditions, without power tools and manufactured supplies.
Sickness and disease overtook them.
Even in the face of death, they nurtured a thankful spirit to God.
These were men and women of strong character and steadfast faith.

Surviving the hardship, with deliberate, meaningful gratitude, directed to the Lord who blessed them with a fruitful and liberal harvest, they set apart a day of thanksgiving.
