Pronking.
Pronking, or stetting is a behaviour of quadrupeds, particularly gazelles, in which they spring into the air, lifting all four feet off the ground simultaneously. This behaviour can be playful, but is also used as a sign of strength, or used to startle predators.( Wikipedia)
This morning I managed to work my way in among a huge herd of fallow and red deer. Spring was definitely in the air, there was a lot of playful behaviour, quite delightful to watch.
This little buck was prancing around right in front of me. I took a sequence of images,, this one being the sharpest of them all. I have kept them, despite the fact that some of the shots are a bit soft, as they are a reminder of a privileged time I spent with the deer this morning.
PS. A huge thanks to you all for all your kind comments, stars and hearts for my Heron shot yesterday. You put it into the Spotlight. ((:
