Kirk Wynd
The current East Kilbride Old Parish Church was built in 1774, but there has been a church on this site since pre reformation times. When the current church was built, it stood in the midst of a small village. Today it stands in the midst of a large new town with a population of over 75,000 people.
Yesterday for MonoMonday we were asked to show an architectural picture. I live in a new town, and therefore I blipped a modern building, the Dollan Aqua Centre. Today, however, I was in the old village, and thought it would be nice to show another side of our town, the Old Village. Kirk Wynd is a lovely wee lane that goes down towards the town centre, and I use it often.
Today the sun was shining and all was right with the world!
