Magnificant Magnolias

On our way home and a last visit to our favourite Cornish garden.
Caerhays Castle.

A beautiful day. Warm, sunny, clear blue sky. Perfect for looking up at the huge magnolia trees, which had come in to full flower since we visited two weeks ago.

Then up to Somerset to stay with friends over night.

Yesterday was K's birthday and also the day she retired.
In spite of feeling a little tired after all the celebrations the previous day they cooked us a wonderful three course meal. They are both great cooks,
T made Thai fishcakes to start.
Then Venison Wellington, followed by Chocolate fondants which were both made by K.
They always make us feel so welcome and we get so spoilt!
( Forgot to mention the superb wines which T selected, including champagne kirs
before the meal!)
Great friends, lots of laughs, delicious food, what a lovely end to our holiday, but not quite as we still have tomorrow!
