The Itch...

I've been skating for coming on 20 years now. I don't get to go out skating as much as I used to because of parental responsibilities but it accentuates 'the itch'.

The itch to which I refer to is the looking forward to a skate session which in this case has been planned with NewBoardOldDude for about 2 weeks. Ever since we decided upon the date I've been considering the skatepark to which we are going and thinking out lines and tricks I might try. I also get this involuntary skateboarding equivalent of finger tapping.

This involuntary action is due to the fact that the index and middle finger of your hand are not dissimilar to a pair of legs and in this case, a pair of skateboarding legs. So I'll find myself unconsciously playing out crook grinds with shuvit outs on the edge of desks I pass. 180 fakie manual kickflip out on railings and 6 foot (to scale) indy nosebones out the top of ruffles in my jacket.

It's a weird anticipation that I sometimes don't even notice I'm doing.

Notes on the Picture...
This is Graeme Fleetham. The tech meister of Dunfermline. He is the result of an addiction to skateboarding crossed with a rather adept ability as a gymnast. The dude has skills.
