Kenepuru Sound

Day 4 of the Boys' Biking trip. We had planned to ride the Wakamarina track - a real biggie. We were away early and dropped my car to the finish, then drove the other car to the start, only to find the track was closed. Not the pretend-you-didn't-see-the-sign-jump-the-fence-and-away-you-go closed, but the multiple-warning-signs-declaring-extreme-danger-threatening-legal-prosecution-and-advising-security-cameras-were-in-place closed.

So we bailed and went back to collect my car. Despite leaving our accommodation at 7:20 am it was by then after mid day. What a pain. So we drove to Anakiwa in Queen Charlotte Sound and rode part of the track to Mistletoe Bay and back (about 26 km). Absolutely magic! The most fun track of the trip and stunning scenery. This is where we stopped for a very late lunch, with views over Kenepuru Sound.
