A Helping Hand
Today I went to town (Malmö) to help my parents. My mother was going to have an eyeoperation. She has been going more and more blind lately, and as my father is very ill too, it would be a cathastrophy if she cannot see anymore. I stayed with my father who always gets very anxious whenever she´s away from home.
He was, in younger days a very playful and humerous man, whith a memory like an elephant. My boys used to call him "the living dictionary", and they often consulted him when they had homework noone else could help them with. He was always glad to help, and could explain things in a very pedagogic and interesting way.
Now he has got some strange syndrome called Louis Body-syndrome, which affects the brain a bit like Alzheimers, so the past 3-4 years he has grown so old and is forgetting more and more. It really hurts to see...!
The operation went well, but we don´t know yet if my mother will be able to see better.
