Forgotten
I made a little discovery on Saturday when I went into the office, a graveyard right in the middle of the town and less than twenty yards from the station! You can actually see here the clock tower which sits above Market Square. It's extraordinary to think that I've been walking past this spot for over three years without ever suspecting its existence. I love secret places like this.
I had to work late and got home even later because my train was cancelled. They only run every hour late in the evening so I thought it might be quicker to get a train to Leeds and then on to Ilkley. I checked with someone else left waiting who consulted the timetable with their phone and was told that, yes, there was a 9.26 from Leeds to Ilkley. As she told me that the Leeds train was pulling in on the opposite platform (the one next to the graveyard) so I leathered it across, over the footbridge and just got on as the doors were closing. On arriving at Leeds and checking the boards I discovered that the said 9.26 goes via Shipley. It was actually the very same train I'd just come in on, back to where I started from. Well, at least I was saved from going back to the office and was able to enjoy a good read.
Finally, thanks so much for all the love for yesterday's blips. I've been glowing today!
